The Appraisal Interview

The Appraisal Interview is a one-day course designed to assist managers/supervisors and/or employees in the art of discussing performance. As the agencies move to their new performance-based management system, the ability to discuss an employee's progress towards meeting performance-based goals is essential to success. Performance-based appraisals are not yearly events, but functional conversation throughout a year's time discussing performance issues. In a performance-based system, the burden of focusing the employees' efforts is a partnership between the supervisor and the employee. This course is not about doing end-of-the-year appraisals. This course is designed to help supervisors deal with performance issues on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.
