A two-day course designed to assist supervisors develop or increase their coaching skills. The emphasis of coaching is on skill development or performance.

  2. Expectations: Formal and informal.
  3. Understanding the root cause of employee performance.
  4. Adult-centered learning.
  5. Establish the working relationship.
  6. Maintaining self esteem in others.
  7. Focus on the situation, not the person or your feelings.
  8. Use of addition, not subtraction.
  9. Describing the performance area or gap.
  10. Getting the employee's point of view.
  11. Encouraging the employee to identify ways to improve.
  12. Sharing your suggestions or feedback on the employee's ideas.
  13. Summarizing and establishing an action plan.
  14. Give support and show confidence.
