Conflict Resolution
Wherever two or more people come together, there is the possibility of conflict. This course will give participants a six-step process that they can use to modify and resolve conflicts of any size. Participants will also learn crucial conflict resolution skills, including dealing with anger and using the Agreement Frame.

Developing Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace

Building Resilience in the workplace
Resilience is “a dynamic process encompassing positive adaptation within the context of significant adversity.”
This course is structured into five parts, each centered around a specific learning objective.
- The first part encourages participants to define and discuss what resilience is and why it is essential.
- The first activity of this section is a resilience questionnaire for participants to reflect on their resilience traits. Participants will use their results, towards the end of the training, as a benchmark to start building their personal resilience plan.
- In the second part, participants reflect on and discuss what it takes to be resilient and, therefore, what the characteristics of resilient people are.
- In this section, the characteristics of resilient individuals are then categorized into six domains of resilience.
- The third part focuses on practical strategies to develop resilience in each of the six domains of resilience.
- The content of the fourth part focuses on resilience in the workplace. Participants discuss why resilience at work is essential and also the role of staff, managers, and the organization as a whole to ensure that employees and organizations are resilient.
- The fifth and last part of the training guides participants towards developing their personal resilience plan. Participants are encouraged to look at the results of their questionnaire and to draw from what has been covered during the session to set their resilience goals.

This one-day seminar is designed for FERS employees with less than five years Federal service who will have more than twenty years of Federal service before their planned retirement. The seminar covers all topics listed in the FERS Late-Career Retirement Seminar and Special Provisions for Law Enforcement Officers, FireFighters and Air Traffic Controllers when necessary.
Federal Budgeting
This course is designed to provide program and project managers a working knowledge of federal financial and managerial systems to accomplish the Department’s budgeting and accounting processes, including budget submissions, managing authorized funding and establishing success criteria. It emphasizes program and project managers’ effective use of these financial systems and processes to accomplish the agency’s mission.
